1. New functions and improved functionality


New NC functions in SW release 6.5

-

The previous software option - spline interpolation 6FC5251-0AA14-0AA0 was split-up as follows as a result of customer requests:
- spline interpolation for 5-axis machining 6FC5251-0AA14-0AA0
(functional scope, as before) and
- spline interpolation for 3-axis machining 6FC5251-0AF14-0AA0
This means, that a favorably-priced solution is available for customers who wish to implement a 3-axis machining application.

The option Path Length Evaluation 6FC5251-0AF05-0AA0 is used to detect the traversing distance/time (path length) for each axis, separately according to feed and rapid traverse and to sense the number of traversing operations as well as the number of jerks. This means that data is available that permits information to be provided about the maintenance condition of the machine via an external service (utility).

The unified nature of the NCU system software has been expanded over all hardware platforms with respect to SW 6.4:

New drive functions in SW release 6.5
The following have been newly included in the drive software 05.01.25 (for the Standard 1, Standard 2 and Performance 1 closed-loop controls) and 06.06.07 (for the High-Standard and High-Performance closed-loop controls):

Brake control and plausibility monitoring, encoder *)

The option Advanced Positioning Control (APC) 6FC5251-0AF04-0AA0 allows a higher position controller gain (KV factor), an improved workpiece surface and therefore higher machine productivity. This has been made possible by actively damping the machine natural frequencies.
Prerequisite: The High-Performance control is used.
Note: The machine equipment may only be commissioned by Siemens A&D MC RD55

Extensive detailed improvements / the removal of software limitations with respect to V06.04.15; refer to the Upgrade Instructions

Loadable compile cycles (no change with respect to SW release 6.4; refer to 15093368

Orders for "Actual SW release" will still be substituted for "Basic license" SW 6.4.

The versions 06.05.05, 06.05.06 and 06.05.08, made available for machine tests with pilot release and exclusion of liability, should, immediately be replaced by the released V06.05.11

5. System interdependencies / limitations with SW release 6.5 V06.05.11

-

The function G643 "Internal block approximate positioning" has been released for applications in the tool change area (e.g. optimized approach to the tool change position). It has not been released for applications in the machining process.

-

The FCUB, FLIN functions in conjunction with the compressor COMPCAD have not been released.

-

NCU *.3: It is only permissible to run-down the PCU 50 using the EXIT button in the Emergency Off state.

-

NCU *.4: It is only permissible to run-down the PCU 50 using the EXIT button in the Emergency Off state - if a PLC operating system <10.60.17 is used.

-

The many new and expanded functions in SW release 6 require more memory space / performance and therefore result in the following system dependencies for older NCUs:

ERLde65040:
Incompatible spindle behavior between SW6.3 and SW6.4 for HIFU groups
with $MC_AUXFU_ASSIGN_VALUE=-1
SW6.3: M2=3 S2=100-->spindle 2 rotates and M3 is output in the axis DB.
SW6.4: M2=3 S2=100-->spindle 2 does not rotate and M3 is not output in the axis DB.

-

ERLde65276:
With $MN_FRAME_GEOAX_CHANGE_MODE =2, for transmit, the zero offset of the rotary axis is deleted.

-

ERLde65174:
Cutting_Edge_Default=0 does not work for Tool_Change_Error_Mode=1. This means after M6, the previous correction is not de-selected.
Remedy: Program D0 before the next traversing block
