Polyurethane TPU properties introduced here include three aspects: Mechanical Properties, Physical Properties and environmental properties; 1. Mechanical Properties: TPU Elastomer Mechanical Properties mainly include: Hardness, tensile strength, compression properties, tear strength, resilience and wear resistance,
flexure resistance, and so on, while elastic plastic TPU mechanical properties, in addition to these properties, there are higher shear strength and impact work. Hardness: Hardness is an indicator of a material's ability to resist deformations, Nicks, and scratches. TPU hardness is usually measured with Shore a and Shore d hardness meters, Shore a for softer TPU, Shore D for harder TPU. Hardness is mainly determined by the hard segment content in TPU structure. The higher the hard segment content, the hardness of TPU will increase. With the increase of hardness, other properties of TPU also changed, tensile Modulus and tear strength increased, rigidity and compressive stress (load capacity) increased, elongation decreased, density and dynamic heat increased, and environmental resistance increased. TPU hardness and temperature have a certain relationship. The hardness of TPU changed little from room temperature to abrupt change temperature (- 4 ~-12 °C) , but it became hard and lost elasticity because of crystallization of soft segment.
